Choosing leopard wallpaper

Where it works

Leopard is a powder room, dressing room and closet pattern first, and a bar or a teenager's room after that. Hot Spots, small dense rosettes on near-black, is the closest to a classic print and the easiest to live with. Bubblegum Cat on hot pink and Gold Prowl, magenta leopards among gold discs on black, are dressing room designs. Cherry Cheetah, animals half-dissolved into cerise foliage, suits a powder room. The murals, Patch Safari, Patch Wild, Loud Leopard and Neon Jungle, run edge to edge and want a room able to take a wall of colour.

Picking between the designs

Spots or animals. Spots only: Hot Spots, Bubblegum Cat, where the rosettes are the whole pattern. Whole animals: Gold Prowl, Cherry Cheetah, stylised leopards moving through the design. Patchwork: Patch Safari, Patch Wild, Loud Leopard, Neon Jungle, leopard and zebra prints pieced together, which can be cropped anywhere because of the grid. Then the ground: near-black for Hot Spots, Gold Prowl and Cherry Cheetah; hot pink for Bubblegum Cat; saturated colour across the whole surface for the murals. None of these is tan on cream, so if you want the classic version this is not the collection.
