Choosing pink and mauve wallpaper
Where it works
Blush Plaster, washes of blush, lilac and pale grey with no motif, behaves as a neutral and will do a whole bedroom or a hallway. The other four are leopards and they belong in a dressing room, a powder room or a closet: Bubblegum Cat on hot pink for a dressing room, Gold Prowl and Cherry Cheetah on black for a powder room, Wild Fuchsia in a magenta thicket for a bar or a closet.
Picking between the designs
Pale or saturated. Pale: Blush Plaster, the only design here that reads as a colour rather than a pattern. Saturated: the four leopards, which differ in how much the animal shows. In Bubblegum Cat only the rosettes appear, painted with soft edges. In Gold Prowl the leopards are stylised almost to geometry, with flat gold discs and crescents. In Cherry Cheetah and Wild Fuchsia the animals dissolve into foliage and emerge only on a second look. Then the ground: hot pink for Bubblegum Cat, black for the other three, plaster for Blush Plaster.
